UditVani, Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur FC’s latest Serbian recruit, Nikola Stojanovic, has made his intentions clear ahead of the upcoming Super Cup: victory is the only option.
The 30-year-old midfielder, who captained Inter Kashi to the I-League title last season, brings leadership, experience, and a winning mindset to Steven Dias’ squad. Known for his set-piece expertise and competitive spirit, Nikola joins a team that finished runners-up in last season’s Super Cup, determined to go one step further this year.
“Nothing more, nothing less than winning,” said Stojanovic adding, “I’ve always carried a winning mindset within me, and I hope we’ll all share that together here.”
The Serbian playmaker expressed confidence in his early interactions with head coach Steven Dias, noting that they share a similar vision of the game. “I’ve met the coach and the teammates, and everything feels just as I hoped. I believe I’ll fit in well with this group,” he added.
Embarking on his fifth season in Indian football after stints with Mohammedan SC, Gokulam Kerala, and Inter Kashi, Nikola said he is thrilled to continue his journey in India.
“I’m really happy to be back. I hope we’ll be on a winning path with Jamshedpur. I’m excited and can’t wait to get started,” he said. He also appealed to the fans for support: “Just come and support us. We will do our best to bring some joy back.”
With the Super Cup approaching, Nikola confirmed the team is working hard in preparation for their opening match against defending champions FC Goa—a repeat of last season’s final. “Nothing changes. Jamshedpur is a really tough team and that’s my mindset,” he concluded.
