UditVani, Jamshedpur : Panic gripped the Ulidih area of Mango late on Sunday night after the body of a 25-year-old youth was found under mysterious circumstances on the rooftop of a house near the Durga Mandir on Sankosai Road No. 1.
The deceased has been identified as Vishal Mahato, a resident of Krishna Nagar Gaur Basti, who worked as a daily wage labourer.
According to sources, Vishal had left home around 11 p.m. on Sunday, telling his family he was going to help with temple decorations.
Hours later, his body was found lying on a nearby rooftop, prompting locals to rush to the spot and inform the police.
Ulidih police arrived promptly, took the body into custody, and sent it to MGM Hospital for postmortem.
Speaking to the police, Vishal’s father, Vikas Mahato, alleged that his son had been murdered in a planned manner. “My son had no enmity with anyone. Yet he died under such suspicious circumstances. This is clearly a case of murder,” he claimed.
The discovery triggered anger among the family members and villagers, who created a ruckus at MGM Hospital on Monday morning during the postmortem, demanding immediate arrest of those responsible.
A Ulidih police station official said that the matter is under investigation. “The exact cause of death will be ascertained only after the postmortem report. We are questioning locals and gathering evidence,” the officer stated, assuring the family that the culprits would be nabbed soon.
The incident has left the entire area in shock and tension, with heightened demands for justice from the aggrieved family and local residents.
