Jamshedpur : In a large-scale emergency preparedness exercise, the East Singhbhum district administration conducted a comprehensive mock drill in response to a simulated air strike scenario in Jamshedpur today.
The objective of the drill was to assess the readiness of administrative and security systems in handling emergency situations.
Central Command Oversight:
District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal personally monitored the situation from the Central Command Room, while the Dhalbhum Sub-Divisional Officer (SDM) and City SP coordinated with officers at the Command and Control Room (CCR), issuing key directives and conducting situational briefings.
Public Awareness Through Schools and Industries:
The drill extended across various factories, companies, and educational institutions in the city, testing emergency responses and raising public awareness. Employees, students, and citizens were educated on the necessary steps to take in the event of such emergencies.
Simulated Air Strike at Maharani Mansion:
A mock alert of an “air strike” was received from Maharani Mansion located in the Circuit House Area. Senior district officials promptly verified the information, after which the Disaster Management’s Quick Response Team (QRT) was dispatched to the scene, and relief operations were simulated.
The mock drill not only demonstrated the preparedness of the local administration but also played a vital role in training the general public to effectively respond during real-life emergencies.
