UditVani, Jamshedpur : The Mobile Cancer Screening Unit was launched yesterday by Tata Steel Foundation in collaboration with Jamshedpur Cancer Society (JCS). The Mobile Cancer Screening Unit (mCSU) was donated by the Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West to Meherbai Tata Memorial Hospital (MTMH), further strengthening the collaboration and initiative.
The cancer screening van was formally inaugurated and flagged-off during the launch ceremony of the initiative. The Rotary Club’s support was made possible through a Rotary Global Grant, along with individual contributions from 54 Rotarians, their families, and friends. The initiative also received support through a CSR contribution from RSB Foundation.
The Mobile Cancer Screening Unit will play a pivotal role in delivering doorstep cancer screening services for oral, breast, and cervical cancers across underserved rural communities in Kalinganagar, Meramandali, and East Singhbhum, significantly improving access to early detection and timely treatment.
This collaborative effort between Tata Steel Foundation, Jamshedpur Cancer Society, Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West and RSB Foundation underscores the power of partnerships in addressing critical public health challenges and advancing equitable healthcare for vulnerable populations.
