
UditVani, Jamshedpur : Dry and increasingly warm conditions persisted across Jharkhand during the past 24 hours, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Ranchi, reporting no rainfall anywhere in the state.
Chaibasa (PTO) emerged as the hottest location, recording a maximum temperature of 33.4°C — nearly four degrees above normal. Jamshedpur followed at 33.0°C, while Daltonganj touched 32.0°C.
Bokaro Thermal registered 31.2°C, and Ranchi remained relatively cooler at 28.6°C, close to its seasonal average.
Night temperatures varied across districts. Gumla recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 10.3°C, making it the coldest spot in the state. Ranchi and Jamshedpur both settled at 16.4°C, while Daltonganj reported 14.8°C.
Several places experienced above-normal minimum temperatures, pointing to slightly warmer nights in parts of the region.
Data from Automated Weather Stations showed Saraikela at 32.8°C and Baharagora at 32.7°C, reinforcing the warming trend. Hazaribagh witnessed a noticeable rise in minimum temperature, whereas Khunti and Simdega experienced comparatively cooler early morning conditions.
Visibility dropped to 2,000 metres in Jamshedpur, the lowest recorded in the state during the observation period.
With clear skies dominating and temperatures gradually climbing, Jharkhand continues under a stable but warming weather pattern, with no immediate indication of rainfall.
