
UditVani, Jamshedpur : The Loyola School Ground resonated with the fervour of athleticism and sportsmanship as the Junior Section of Loyola School celebrated its 75th Annual Sports Day today, November 26.
The occasion was graced by the presence of Rector Fr Michael T. Raj SJ, Principal Fr Vinod Fernandes SJ, former Rector Fr K. M. Joseph SJ, former Principals Fr Pius Fernandes SJ and Fr Victor Misquith SJ, Treasurer Fr Gerald D’Souza SJ, Headmaster of Loyola Hindi School Fr Francis Perumalil, Vice Principal (Senior Section) Mrs Jayanti Sheshadri, Vice Principal (Junior Section) Mrs Vineeta F. Ekka, Fr Cyril Tigga SJ, Fr Akhilesh SJ, and members of the Executive Committee of LAA.
JULO, the high-spirited mascot, made its presence felt with infectious energy, filling the ambience with zest, passion, and excitement.
The Sports Day flag was unfurled, the Sports flame lit, balloons released, and the Sports Oath administered, marking the formal declaration of the Sports Meet open. A total of 38 athletic events were held for students from Nursery to Std V.
Triumphs were celebrated as champions of various events were recognised with medals and trophies for their dedication and perseverance.
Special Prize Winners:
Std III: Rachit Rai and Kritika Munda – Best Sportspersons
Std IV: Kabir Kaushal and Rida Parween – Best Sportspersons
Std V: Saharsh Prateek and Sasha Amber Reid – Best Sportspersons
The Jaguar House clinched the Championship 2025, while the Leopard House secured the Runners-Up Trophy.
The much-awaited jamboree concluded with the lowering of the flag, which was handed over to Vice Principal Vineeta F. Ekka.
The programme ended on a happy note with the vote of thanks delivered by Principal Fr Vinod Fernandes, followed by the rendition of the school anthem.
