
UditVani, Jamshedpur : Loyola School, Bistupur was abuzz with colour, rhythm, and youthful energy as it hosted its annual inter-school cultural fest Rhapsody 2025 under the theme “Sports – The Spirit of Life.”
The grand event saw the participation of 17 schools, transforming the campus into a vibrant hub of creativity, intellect, and competitive spirit.
The festival was inaugurated by Chief Guest Varun Aaron, former India fast bowler and proud Loyola alumnus.
He was joined by Rector Fr. Michael Thaneraj, Principal Fr. Vinod Fernandes, former Principal Fr. Victor Misquith, Fr. Cyril Tigga, and Vice-Principals Jayanthi Sheshadri and Vineeta Ekka.
The opening began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by a soulful prayer and welcome song by the school choir.
Introducing Aaron, Vice-Principal Sheshadri recalled his journey as one of India’s fastest pacers, highlighting his international debut in 2011, stints in the IPL, and his present role as bowling coach for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Felicitated with a sapling, Aaron inspired students with his words on resilience, confidence, and character-building beyond classrooms, before officially declaring the fest open.
The day featured a line-up of On-Stage events such as Mythmoves, Half-time Harmony, Sports Caster, Quiz on the Pitch, and FIFA, along with Off-Stage events including Chhatri Kaleidoscope, Spotiva, Astro Javelin, Verse Voyage, Half Court Havoc, Pen’athalon, and Diplomatic Decathlon.
Each contest provided a platform for students to display artistic brilliance, sporting enthusiasm, and intellectual creativity.
The closing ceremony was attended by dignitaries from Tata Football Academy—Head Coach Steven Benedic Dias, Manager Rohit Singh, and players Rai Tachikawa, Pronay Halder, and Pratik Choudhary.
Awards were distributed across categories, with Carmel Junior College emerging as the Overall Champion, while Sacred Heart Convent School and St. Xavier’s School, Gamharia shared the Runner-Up position.
Proposing the vote of thanks, Sir Anthony Rodrigues, JYOTI Co-ordinator, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participants, dignitaries, and institutions for making Rhapsody 2025 a resounding success.
