
UditVani, Jamshedpur : Loyola School, Bistupur celebrated its 75th Annual Sports Day at the CNR Ground with vibrant colours, spirited performances, and an atmosphere brimming with enthusiasm. The event showcased the institution’s commitment to holistic education, discipline, and physical fitness.

Grand Opening Ceremony
The four houses—Cheetahs, Panthers, Leopards and Jaguars—assembled in their striking uniforms, ready to display unity and team spirit. The rhythmic beats of the drum announced the arrival of the Chief Guest, Kumar Shivashish, IPS, City S.P., an alumnus of LFS, Jamshedpur. He was welcomed with a ceremonial Guard of Honour by the scouts.
Vice Principal Ms. Jayanthi Sheshadri welcomed the Chief Guest with a sapling, symbolising growth and goodwill, followed by a graceful felicitation by the Principal. Rev. Fr. Victor Misquith later presented a token of appreciation on behalf of the school.

March Past and Opening of the Meet
A meticulously coordinated March Past set the tone for the day, reflecting the discipline and dedication of the students. The Chief Guest took the salute as each contingent marched past the dais to loud applause.
The lighting of the torch signalled the official start of the sports meet. In his address, the Chief Guest encouraged students to strive for excellence with perseverance and ambition. The School President administered the Oath of Sportsmanship, followed by the release of colourful balloons that symbolised freedom and celebration. The Sports Meet was then officially declared open.
Creative Drill Depicts Journey of Mother Earth
One of the major highlights of the event was an impressive drill sequence that portrayed the journey of Mother Earth—from her pristine origins to the challenges she faces today. The performance began with scenes of lush greenery and thriving wildlife, then shifted to themes of environmental degradation caused by urbanisation and pollution. The finale conveyed a powerful message of hope and responsibility, urging collective action for a cleaner, safer planet.

Thrilling Athletic Events Enthral Spectators
A series of exciting track and field events kept the audience on edge, showcasing the students’ determination, teamwork, and competitive spirit. Cheers and encouragement from spectators created an electrifying atmosphere throughout the morning session.
Cheetah House emerged as the Overall Champion
The Closing Ceremony was graced by Rev. Dr. Donald D’Silva, S.J., Dean of Finance & Administration at XLRI, Jamshedpur. He was welcomed with a sapling and felicitated by the school leadership. Cheetah House emerged as the Overall Champion, followed by Leopard House in second place. Jaguar House won the Best Marching Contingent Trophy, while Panther House was awarded Best Disciplined House. Rev. Dr. D’Silva praised the participants, emphasising that the true spirit of the event lies in participation and sportsmanship.
A solemn moment followed as the Sports Flag was lowered, marking the close of the meet. Principal Fr. Vinod Fernandes delivered the Vote of Thanks, appreciating the efforts of all students, staff, and supporters who contributed to the day’s success.
