Jamshedpur : In a heart-wrenching incident on Tuesday morning, a 22-year-old woman, Pooja Hembram, lost her life after sustaining severe burn injuries from a kitchen gas-related fire near Kunwar Singh School in the Ulidih police station area.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 5 am when Pooja was cooking.
Somehow, she came into contact with the fire and suffered burns over nearly 70 percent of her body. At the time, her husband and their three-year-old son were asleep in another room.
She was rushed to MGM Hospital in critical condition, but despite doctors’ efforts, she succumbed to her injuries during the course of treatment.
The incident was reported to the police on Wednesday by her husband. Police inspected the spot, took possession of the body, and sent it for postmortem examination. An investigation into the incident was currently underway.
This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of kitchen gas safety and has once again raised concerns among city residents.
