UditVani, Jamshedpur : A spine-chilling case of triple murder has come to light in Kharsawan block of Seraikela-Kharsawan district, where three decomposed bodies were exhumed nearly 10 to 12 days after being buried underground.
The shocking discovery has thrown the local community into panic and disbelief.
According to police sources, the murders appear to be the result of witchcraft accusations and personal enmity among villagers.
Investigations suggest that superstition-fuelled suspicion, combined with long-standing disputes, led to the brutal killings.
Acting on credible information, police teams traced the burial site and recovered the bodies from a secluded area.
The accused individuals have been arrested, and detailed questioning is underway to uncover the full sequence of events.
Seraikela-Kharsawan Superintendent of Police confirmed that the recovered bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination to establish the exact cause and time of death.
“Preliminary evidence points towards superstition and interpersonal conflict as the motive. The investigation is ongoing, and strict action will follow,” the SP stated.
The gruesome incident underscores the continuing challenge of eradicating witch-hunting and superstition-related violence in rural Jharkhand, despite awareness drives and legal deterrents.
Police have stepped up vigilance in the area and urged residents to reject such beliefs and report any suspicious activity to authorities.
