
Jamshedpur: Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Karn Satyarthi officially assumed charge on Tuesday as the 25th Deputy Commissioner of East Singhbhum district.
In a formal ceremony held at the collectorate office, outgoing Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal handed over the responsibilities to Satyarthi.
The event was attended by several senior district officials including the Deputy Development Commissioner, ITDA Project Director, Dhalbhum SDO, ADC, employees from various departments, and members of the media.
Background and Priorities
Karn Satyarthi previously served as the Deputy Commissioner of Gumla district. After assuming office, he emphasized that his key focus areas will include transparency in governance, efficient implementation of welfare schemes, and accelerating the pace of development.
Farewell to Outgoing DC with Warm Wishes
Outgoing DC Ananya Mittal expressed gratitude to colleagues and citizens for their cooperation during his tenure. He extended best wishes to Satyarthi and expressed confidence that under his leadership, East Singhbhum will move forward on the path of inclusive and sustainable development. Mittal also appreciated the commendable role played by the public, administration, and media in the peaceful conduct of the recent Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.
Focus on Public Grievance Redressal and Last-Mile Delivery of Schemes
In a brief interaction with the media, Satyarthi stated that the district administration’s priorities will revolve around public interest. Ensuring that government welfare schemes reach the grassroots level and benefit the last person in the queue will be central to his agenda. He affirmed his commitment to fast-tracking development with the cooperation of all sections of society to steer the district in a progressive direction.
