
UditVani, Jamshedpur : With campaigning for the Ghatsila Assembly by-election gaining momentum, Kalpana Murmu Soren, wife of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and MLA from Gandey, joined the electoral campaign in support of INDIA Bloc’s joint candidate Somesh Soren.
Addressing massive gatherings at Galudih and Ghurabandha block today , Kalpana Soren urged voters to stand united to continue the development vision of late JMM MLA Ramdas Soren, describing his demise as an “irreparable loss” for both the party and the people.
Kalpana recalled that Ramdas Soren had dreamt of transforming Ghatshila into one of the most progressive constituencies in Jharkhand.
“He wanted every child in Jharkhand to get the best education, and that’s why he initiated the CM Schools of Excellence. He believed children from poor families should read and speak fluent English and rise in life,” she said.
She added that Ramdas Soren had also envisioned setting up a Tribal University to empower local youth through higher education.
On employment, she highlighted his efforts to reopen the Surda, Rakha, and Kendadih copper mines under Hindustan Copper Limited, which now provide jobs to thousands.
He also advocated for exploration of emerald mines in Ghurabandha, one of the world’s rarest mineral belts—a move expected to boost local livelihoods.
Appealing to voters, Kalpana Soren said, “If you want to see Dada Ramdas Soren’s dreams come true, bless his son Somesh Soren with your votes. Together, we will take Ghatsila’s development to new heights.”
Adding an emotional touch to the rally, Surajmuni Soren, wife of the late Ramdas Soren, appealed to the people to support her son. “I had once given my husband to serve the people of Ghatshila. Today, I hand over my son to you with the same trust,” she said with teary eyes.
The event saw the presence of several senior JMM leaders, including Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Maji, MP Vijay Hansda, MLAs Mathura Mahato and Savita Mahato, and ministers Deepak Birua and Sudivya Kumar.
All leaders echoed one message — that the “Bow and Arrow” will once again triumph in Ghatshila, ensuring a massive victory for Somesh Soren.
