UditVani,Jamshedpur : In a brazen daylight robbery, two bikers snatched a gold chain from a woman in the Kadma Farm area under Kadma police jurisdiction.
The incident occurred on Saturday morning as the woman was returning home from a temple after offering prayers.
The victim recounted that around 8:30 a.m., she was accompanied by her brother-in-law, Nilesh Rao, when the assailants struck near Road Number 10.
The chain was torn during the snatch, leaving a part with the victim while the rest was taken by the fleeing culprits.
Following the incident, the woman informed Rajesh Singh, former president of Kadma BJP unit, who assisted her in filing a complaint at Kadma police station.
Singh highlighted that chain-snatching incidents are increasing across the city, leaving residents feeling unsafe. He urged the district administration to take strict action, warning that failure to do so may compel the BJP to launch protests.
Notably, a similar incident occurred in the same area on Friday morning when a sportsperson was targeted during his morning walk.
The repeated robberies have created an atmosphere of fear and insecurity in the locality. Residents have called for increased police patrolling and tighter surveillance to prevent such crimes.
