Udit Vani Jamshedpur : The Jharkhand High Court has sought a detailed response from the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) on a writ petition filed against the merit list of the 11th JPSC Combined Civil Services Examination.
The petition challenges the validity of the final merit list and alleges irregularities in the selection process, demanding its cancellation.
The court’s directive came after the petitioner highlighted several discrepancies in the recruitment procedure, including alleged violations of reservation policies, inconsistencies in the interview process, and a lack of transparency in the evaluation of candidates.
The petitioner has argued that these irregularities have led to unfair selection and have deprived many deserving candidates of their rightful place.
The High Court, taking the petition seriously, has asked the JPSC to file a detailed affidavit explaining the methodology used for preparing the merit list, including the weightage given to written exams and interviews, and how reservation norms were implemented.
The court also indicated that it would closely examine whether the selection process was conducted in line with constitutional and procedural norms.
The case has gained attention across the state, particularly among aspirants who appeared in the 11th JPSC exam. Many of them have expressed concerns over the credibility of the recruitment process. Several student organizations and civil service aspirant groups have also come forward in support of the petition, demanding a fair and transparent inquiry.
The next hearing is expected to be scheduled soon, during which the JPSC’s official response will be evaluated. The outcome of this case could have significant implications on the current list of selected candidates and future recruitment procedures conducted by the commission.
The 11th JPSC exam was conducted to fill various administrative posts under the Jharkhand state government, and its merit list had been released recently. The ongoing legal scrutiny has now cast uncertainty over the final appointments.
