UditVani, Jamshedpur: A 10-member committee has been formed to survey stray animals within the JNAC and Mango Municipal Corporation areas and relocate them safely to shelters or gaushalas. The committee held its first meeting on Tuesday, emphasizing the need for proper rehabilitation of stray cattle in designated gaushalas.
The committee will identify stray animals, ensure their safe capture, transportation, and rehabilitation. A ward-wise survey will be conducted, especially focusing on stray cows, bulls, and dogs. The identified animals will be shifted to authorized gaushalas and shelter homes through a humane process, where they will receive proper care, medical treatment, fodder, and protection.
Special focus will be laid on sterilization and vaccination to control the population of stray animals in the future. The committee will coordinate closely with municipal bodies, the animal husbandry department, and gaushala operators to ensure smooth functioning and uninterrupted care.
Deputy Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar stated that animal protection and public safety are top priorities. He assured that stray cattle will be provided safe shelter and proper care at gaushalas. He also appealed to citizens not to abandon cattle on roads and to contact municipal authorities for any related information.
