UditVani, Ranchi : In a move to strengthen human resources alongside Jharkhand’s industrial growth, the Jindal Foundation has proposed a comprehensive partnership with the Government of Jharkhand in the fields of education, research and skill development.
The proposal was submitted through an Expression of Interest to a high-level state delegation led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren during an official visit to London.
Under the proposed collaboration, the Jindal Foundation will undertake academic research in areas such as public policy, law and climate change, with a special focus on challenges faced by eastern India.
The initiative aims to connect students from the region with inclusive and high-quality education while producing research relevant to regional and national policy priorities.
The partnership also envisages setting up a Centre of Excellence in collaboration with premier institutions in Jharkhand, including IIT-ISM Dhanbad and BIT Sindri. The centre will focus on innovation and research in the steel sector, mineral processing and critical minerals, supporting technological advancement and industrial development in the state.
Additionally, the state government and the Jindal Foundation plan to jointly launch a scholarship programme on a 50:50 cost-sharing basis to support meritorious students from marginalised communities, with special emphasis on women.
Sports-based scholarships will also be introduced to help talented athletes pursue higher education without financial constraints.
