
UditVani, Jamshedpur : Jharkhand continued to experience dry weather conditions over the past 24 hours, with no rainfall reported from any part of the state, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Meteorological Centre, Ranchi.
Met observations indicated that both maximum and minimum temperatures remained above normal at several locations.
Ranchi registered a maximum temperature of 26.4 degrees Celsius, which was 1.5 degrees above normal, while the minimum temperature settled at 13.2 degrees Celsius, marking a notable departure of 2.8 degrees above normal.
Jamshedpur recorded a warmer day with a maximum temperature of 30.0 degrees Celsius, 2.4 degrees above normal, and a minimum of 13.4 degrees Celsius.
Chaibasa (PTO) emerged as the hottest place in the state, recording the highest maximum temperature of 31.4 degrees Celsius.
In contrast, Gumla AWS reported the lowest minimum temperature at 8.4 degrees Celsius. Other major centres including Daltonganj, Bokaro Thermal and Saraikela also reported above-normal daytime temperatures.
The IMD report noted nil rainfall across all districts and no fog formation during the observation period.
However, reduced visibility was observed at Jamshedpur, where visibility dropped to 1,500 metres, the lowest recorded in the state.
Data from automated weather stations across Jharkhand further confirmed the trend of mild winter conditions prevailing in most districts.
The meteorological department has indicated that dry weather is likely to continue, with the possibility of shallow fog or mist at isolated places during the morning hours over the next few days.
