UditVani, Jamshedpur : Large parts of Jharkhand woke up to dense fog on Tuesday morning, significantly reducing visibility in several districts, while dry weather conditions prevailed across the state, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
The IMD’s realised weather report, based on observations recorded at 8.30 am, confirmed that no rainfall was reported anywhere in Jharkhand during the past 24 hours.
Temperatures Largely Stable
Day temperatures remained mostly close to seasonal averages. Chaibasa (PTO) emerged as the warmest location with a maximum temperature of 26.8°C.
Ranchi recorded a daytime high of 23.7°C, marginally above normal, while the minimum temperature settled at 9.5°C.
The coldest night was reported from Lohardaga, where the minimum temperature dipped to 5.4°C, marking one of the lowest readings in the state.
Low Visibility Disrupts Early Hours
Dense fog was observed at several places, including Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Daltonganj, and Deoghar.
The lowest visibility -just 50 metres-was recorded in Ranchi, posing challenges for early morning commuters and vehicular movement.
District-wise Trends
Automated Weather Station data showed a noticeable rise in maximum temperatures in districts such as Saraikela (26.5°C), Bokaro (25.4°C) and Baharagora in East Singhbhum (25.4°C).
Minimum temperatures across districts largely hovered between 8°C and 13°C.
No Cold Wave Conditions
The IMD clarified that no cold wave conditions were observed in any part of the state during the period.
Authorities have advised people to exercise caution while travelling in the early morning hours due to fog-related low visibility, particularly on highways and near airports.
