UditVani , Jamshedpur : Jharkhand witnessed a noticeable rise in day temperatures across most districts on Wednesday, even as nights remained comparatively mild and stable.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Ranchi records no rainfall, fog or cold wave conditions were recorded anywhere in the state during the past 24 hours.
As per the realised weather report issued at 10 am based on 8.30 am surface observations, maximum temperatures in several cities remained above normal.
Chaibasa (PTO) in West Singhbhum district recorded the highest maximum temperature in the state at 31.2 degrees Celsius, which was a significant 6 degrees above normal. Jamshedpur also experienced warmer conditions with a maximum temperature of 30.5 degrees Celsius, around 3.3 degrees above normal.
Ranchi recorded a maximum temperature of 26.6 degrees Celsius, about 2.4 degrees above the seasonal average, while Bokaro (Thermal) and Daltonganj registered 28.2 degrees and 29.2 degrees Celsius respectively.
The IMD noted minor fluctuations in daytime temperatures over the past 24 hours, indicating stable weather conditions across the region.
Night temperatures, though slightly above normal at some locations, continued to remain comfortable.
The lowest minimum temperature in the state was recorded at Gumla AWS at 8.4 degrees Celsius, making it the coldest place in Jharkhand during the observation period. Ranchi reported a minimum temperature of 12.9 degrees Celsius, which was about 3.1 degrees above normal, while Jamshedpur recorded a minimum of 13.2 degrees Celsius.
Data from Automated Weather Stations (AWS) across the state showed similar trends. Saraikela recorded a high maximum temperature of 31.2 degrees Celsius, while Jagannathpur in West Singhbhum reported 30.2 degrees Celsius. Minimum temperatures at most AWS locations ranged between 10 and 13 degrees Celsius, suggesting the absence of severe cold conditions.
Visibility remained largely normal across Jharkhand.
However, the lowest visibility of 1,500 metres was reported at Meteorological Centre Ranchi.
The IMD confirmed that no fog events were observed during the past 24 hours, ensuring smooth road, rail and air operations across the state.
Importantly, the state received no rainfall during the observation period.
All surface observatories and AWS stations reported nil precipitation, indicating dry weather conditions prevailing throughout Jharkhand.
The IMD also confirmed that no cold wave conditions were realised anywhere in the state.
Weather experts said the rise in day temperatures is typical during this phase of winter and does not indicate an early end to the season.
Residents have been advised to continue taking precautions during early morning and late evening hours, especially in districts like Gumla, Latehar and Lohardaga where minimum temperatures remain relatively low.
The IMD has forecast stable weather conditions to continue in the coming days, with clear skies and dry conditions likely to persist across most parts of Jharkhand.
