
UditVani, Jamshedpur : Large parts of Jharkhand continued to shiver under cold wave conditions on Tuesday, with night temperatures dropping significantly across several districts, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Ranchi.
Gumla was the coldest place in the state, recording a minimum temperature of 2.3°C, while Bokaro Thermal also remained under cold wave conditions.
In the state capital, Ranchi, the maximum temperature was recorded at 21.6°C and the minimum at 7.5°C, both below normal for this time of year.
Jamshedpur experienced a relatively warmer day with a high of 26.2°C, but the night temperature fell to 10°C, slightly below the seasonal average.
Foggy conditions were reported in Deoghar, where visibility dropped to 800 metres during the morning hours, affecting normal movement.
Meteorological officials said the prevailing weather pattern suggests that cold and foggy conditions are likely to persist, with chilly mornings and cold wave conditions continuing in several parts of Jharkhand in the days ahead.
