UditVani, Jamshedpur : The Jamshedpur Super League (JSL), India’s largest and most inclusive grassroots football festival, will launch its U-15 and U-13 categories from Friday at the Tinplate Sports Complex. The introduction of the U-15 age group marks a major expansion for the tournament, strengthening its commitment to holistic grassroots development.
A total of 10 matches will be played in the U-13 category from 2:30 PM, followed by 16 matches in the U-15 category starting at 3 PM.
The community segment of the league has also grown significantly this season, featuring 11 teams in the Mothers’ League with 132 participants and 16 teams in the Fathers’ League with 192 players — a remarkable rise reflecting the city’s growing football culture.
Emphasizing the steady rise of the league, Kundan Chandra, Head of Grassroots and Youth Development at Jamshedpur FC, said, “This is a bigger league compared to last year’s inaugural edition. When parents and children take the field, it creates a natural ecosystem where football becomes part of everyday life. These kinds of tournaments are essential to sustain interest in the game and ensure that football remains alive and thriving in Jamshedpur.”
With the addition of the U-15 and U-13 categories, the JSL further strengthens its stature as a comprehensive grassroots-to-community football platform — one that nurtures young players while uniting families and communities through the sport.
