UditVani, Jamshedpur : As part of Sustain XL 2025, XLRI’s student committee PEACE (People for Environment Awareness and Conservation of Ecosystems), in collaboration with Dr. Shams Khan of Rotary Club Jamshedpur, organized a birdhouse-making workshop.
The workshop was organised as a part of two day Environmental Sustainability Conclave which concluded today.
The event saw an overwhelming response from students who came together to craft birdhouses and feeders using recycled materials, showcasing their creativity and commitment to sustainability.
Participants repurposed wood, cardboard, and plastic waste into eco-friendly shelters for birds. The enthusiasm among the students underscored their dedication to contributing to environmental conservation in a tangible way.
Several of these birdhouses have already become thriving homes for birds such as sparrows, robins, and mynas, which have started nesting or feeding in them.
This instant success highlights the impact of the initiative on local biodiversity and serves as a testament to the event’s success.
It also serves as a platform for students to engage with hands-on conservation efforts, fostering a sense of responsibility towards the environment.
Through this workshop, PEACE demonstrated how small, community-driven initiatives can make a significant impact on fostering biodiversity and creating sustainable solutions.
The event not only reinforced the importance of urban biodiversity but also inspired students to think creatively about ways to contribute to environmental conservation.
