UditVani, Jamshedpur : In a decisive move, the city police thwarted a major criminal plan and arrested four notorious criminals before they could execute their intended crime. Acting on a tip-off, a special team formed under the directive of the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) raided Namda Basti and apprehended the suspects.
According to the City Superintendent of Police, intelligence—both technical and human—indicated that a group of criminals had gathered and were planning a serious crime, possibly a robbery or violent attack. Without delay, a special task force was constituted, comprising personnel from the Crime Investigation Branch, local police station, and the technical cell. The team swiftly surrounded Namda Basti and launched a targeted raid, where the four suspects were found in suspicious circumstances.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Neeraj Singh, Ranjit Yadav, Gulshan Saw, and Ajay Kumar—all of whom have extensive criminal records. Police revealed that the accused had previously been involved in several serious crimes including murder, robbery, extortion, and violations under the Arms Act.
During the operation, police recovered a country-made pistol, live cartridges, sharp-edged weapons, face masks, and a motorcycle, all of which were intended to be used in the crime. Initial interrogation has led to confessions of involvement in some previous cases, and police are continuing their investigation to uncover links to other criminal activities.
The arrested individuals have been remanded to judicial custody, and efforts are ongoing to trace other members of their network. Commending the team for their swift and effective action, the SSP urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police promptly.
