UditVani, Jamshedpur : In a swift and well-coordinated operation, Jamshedpur Police on Tuesday arrested a member of the Bhanu Manjhi gang from Ulian TOP Ground in Kadma, recovering a loaded firearm from his possession.
The accused has been identified as Manish Singh (20), a resident of Bhatia Basti, Kadma. Police seized a country-made semi-automatic pistol and three live cartridges during the search.
Addressing a press conference, SSP Piyush Pandey said Singh was actively involved in the gang’s extortion network, which thrives on threatening people at gunpoint. Based on a tip-off that he was planning a major criminal act, a joint team of Kadma Police and Ulian TOP moved quickly and apprehended him before he could strike.
Singh is being interrogated to gather information about the gang’s network and recent activities.
Following questioning, he was remanded to judicial custody. Police said operations against organised gangs will continue to maintain order in the city.
