UditVani, Jamshedpur : Jamshedpur FC is set for a high-stakes clash in the Kalinga Super Cup semifinal as they gear up to face Mumbai City FC on Wednesday.
Fresh off a dramatic penalty shootout win over NorthEast United FC, the Men of Steel are now just one win away from their maiden Super Cup final appearance.
JFC enters the tie with momentum on their side, having completed a stunning double over Mumbai in the ISL 2024-25 season — a thrilling 3-2 home win followed by a commanding 3-0 away victory.
Head coach Khalid Jamil believes his side is ready for “a different challenge, a new opportunity” against the Islanders.
“The players have shown incredible maturity and heart this season. We’ve come a long way, and we will give everything to make it to the final — for our fans and for the badge,” said Jamil ahead of the semifinal showdown.
Jamshedpur will look to bank on their rock-solid defense and the attacking trio of Siverio, Murray, and Javi Hernández to crack Mumbai’s backline. On the other hand, Mumbai City FC arrives in Bhubaneswar after a narrow 1-0 victory over Inter Kashi FC and will be hungry to avenge their league defeats.
With no injury concerns in the JFC camp, the Men of Steel are expected to field their strongest XI in what promises to be a thrilling encounter. A win would not only make it three in a row against Mumbai but also seal Jamshedpur’s place in history.
Kick-off is set for 8 pm on April 30 at the Kalinga Stadium. Fans can catch the action live on Star Sports 3 and JioHotstar.
