UditVani, Jamshedpur : Jamshedpur FC will look to wrap up their Super Cup group stage campaign on a positive note when they take on I-League champions Inter Kashi on Saturday, November 1, at the Bambolim Stadium.
The Men of Steel head into the contest with renewed spirit after a thrilling 2–2 comeback draw against NorthEast United FC, where goals from Pronay Halder and Messi Bouli helped the team recover from a two-goal deficit.
Reflecting on his team’s progress, Head Coach Steven Dias expressed satisfaction with the side’s growing confidence and resilience.
“After losing to FC Goa, everyone knew how crucial the NorthEast match was,” said Dias.
“The players gave more than their 100%, and I’m really proud of their effort. Despite challenging pitch and weather conditions, they kept fighting. Match by match, we’re improving, and I’m confident we’ll carry that focus into the next game.”
Though Jamshedpur FC are out of the semi-final race, Dias views the final group fixture as a vital step in the team’s development.
“The biggest positive is that the team is improving every game — the understanding, the style of play, the confidence. It’s a very good sign for the future,” he added.
Inter Kashi, who have also exited the competition after a draw with NorthEast United and a defeat to FC Goa, will nonetheless pose a tough challenge.
Acknowledging the competition, Dias said, “Our group was very strong — FC Goa, NorthEast United, and now Inter Kashi, all quality sides. But our mentality is to win. The boys are focused, they’ve trained well, and I’m sure we’ll give our best.”
Dias also extended heartfelt gratitude to the fans for their unwavering support.
“Football is nothing without fans. Even in difficult times, they’ve always stood by us. I just want to thank them and request that they keep supporting us. The boys will fight and give everything on the field,” he said.
A victory against Inter Kashi could see Jamshedpur FC finish second in the group, depending on NorthEast United’s result.
The match kicks off at 4:30 PM and will be live-streamed on the Indian Football YouTube channel.
