Udit Vani, Jamshedpur : Hosts Jamshedpur FC have exited the AIFF U-15 Junior League after a disappointing 0-3 loss to Punjab FC in their final Group C match at the Flatlet Ground on Wednesday. Despite an encouraging start and topping their qualifying group with an unbeaten record, Jamshedpur FC fell short in the main group stage, finishing third and missing out on a quarterfinal berth.
Punjab FC’s Taibang Ngamba led the charge with a brace, scoring in the 15th and 67th minutes, while Khaidem Thoitoiba Meetie netted the second goal in the 58th minute.
JFC’s young squad, largely comprising players groomed through Tata Steel Foundation’s grassroots centres, were unable to capitalize on early momentum.
Meanwhile, Minerva Academy FC closed Group C on a high with a resounding 7-1 victory over Football 4 Change Academy, claiming the top spot with nine points. In Group D, Kickstart FC edged Rajasthan United 3-2, but PFC Kerala emerged group winners despite a 2-5 loss to FC Madras, with all three teams locked at six points and separated by goal difference.
