
UditVani, Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur bids an emotional farewell to one of its most distinguished sons, Prabhat Sinha, who passed away in Delhi on Sunday.
Sinha who held several significant roles including Jharkhand / Bihar head of Reliance Industries and GM Town Services at Tata Steel ( now Tata Steel UISL ) spent his final days away from the Steel City.
His imprint on Jamshedpur’s industrial and civic life remains indelible.
His last rites were held in New Delhi today.
Born on November 19, 1948, Prabhat Sinha was 78 at the time of his demise.
After a prolonged illness, he was admitted to a hospital in Delhi, where he breathed his last on Sunday.
With his passing, Jamshedpur has lost not just a renowned industrialist but a visionary who played a pivotal role in shaping the region’s industrial landscape.
Prabhat Sinha was a towering figure in the steel and manufacturing sector.
His contribution to strengthening and expanding the steel ecosystem of eastern India was widely acknowledged across corporate and policy circles.
Beyond boardrooms and factories, he was known for his warm personality and grounded nature.
Whether interacting with workers on the shop floor or meeting citizens in Jamshedpur’s streets, Prabhat Sinha carried himself with humility, earning respect and affection in equal measure.
Although professional responsibilities later took him away from Jamshedpur, the city always remained close to his heart.
His roots, relationships and formative years were deeply intertwined with the Steel City, making him one of its most cherished sons.
Prabhat Sinha’s passing marks the end of an era. Jamshedpur, the city he helped build and nurture through decades of industrial leadership, will forever remember him as a pioneer, a gentleman, and a true son of the soil.
A prayer meeting in loving memory of Prabhat Sinha will be held on Wednesday, January 14, at the South Patio Club, Block-D, South City-II, Sector-50, Gurugram, Haryana from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m, where family, friends and well-wishers will come together to offer prayers, remember his life of grace and generosity, and pay their heartfelt tributes.
