UditVani, Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur is gearing up for a significant sustainability push as local organisations and community members come together to conduct an E-Waste Collection Drive from December 2 to 5 , in observance of National Pollution Control Day.
The initiative—supported by Rotary Club of Jamshedpur Steel City and local volunteers—aims to promote responsible disposal of discarded electronic devices and reduce the rising threat of e-waste pollution.
According to the campaign poster shared by organisers, residents are encouraged to gather unusable or damaged electronic items at home or office and either have them picked up from their doorstep or drop them at designated collection points.
The drive promises eco-friendly recycling and a certificate of disposal for contributors.
Confirmed Collection Point:
* C.H. Area – Kharia Residence
(More will be added soon.)
Residents have also been asked to submit their name and location of e-waste (home/office/factory) so that coordinators can reach out directly to arrange collection.
Appealing to the community, organisers urged citizens to actively participate:
“Let’s come together to make a positive impact on our environment. Please spread the word and help us gather as much e-waste as possible.”
With growing awareness about climate change and pollution, the drive is expected to draw strong community engagement and contribute significantly to cleaner, safer waste management practices in the city.
