UditVani, Jamshedpur : The Jamshedpur District senior football team continued its dominance in state football by winning the Jharkhand Senior Inter-District Championship for the third consecutive year. The thrilling final saw Jamshedpur edge out Godda District 4–2 in a tense penalty shootout.
Jamshedpur FC’s youth coaches praised the district team’s remarkable achievement, highlighting how it reflects the city’s growing football culture. Kundan Chandra, Head of Youth Development, said, “Winning the title three times in a row is a proud moment for Jamshedpur. It showcases the city’s football culture and the hunger for the game. The players have shown great character, and it is wonderful to see local football thriving.”
The district squad was selected from standout performers in the JSA League, where senior players regularly compete against Jamshedpur FC’s U16 and U18 teams in the Super Division and Premier Division. This competitive environment has helped bridge the gap between youth and senior football.
U-18 head coach Kaizad Ambapardiwalla lauded the team’s composure under pressure, particularly during the penalty shootout. “These boys have faced tough matches all season, including against our academy sides. Holding their nerves in such a high-stakes situation speaks volumes about their maturity,” he said.
U-16 head coach Shakti Singh echoed the sentiment, adding that the district team’s success reflects the overall growth of Jamshedpur’s grassroots football ecosystem. “The level of football here improves every year. Many players have progressed through local competitions, and this title is a reward for the entire football community,” Singh said.
