Strong Participation and Impressive Line-up:
One of the major highlights of this year’s event is the JKC Obedience Competition, regarded as one of the most respected obedience trials in the country. A total of 39 dogs will participate, including 20 dogs competing for Post Graduate Qualification and 7 dogs assessed under the Companion Dog category, which includes dogs used for medical and therapeutic purposes.
In the championship shows, an impressive 326 dogs representing 43 different breeds will compete for the coveted Best in Show title. Along with popular and exotic international breeds such as Tibetan Mastiff, Chow Chow, Dogo Argentino, and English Setter, the show will also proudly feature native Indian breeds including Caravan Hound, Combai, Mudhol Hound, Pashmi, and Rajapalayam, highlighting India’s rich canine heritage.
Special Focus on Local Talent
In a special initiative to encourage local participation, JKC has introduced an exclusive event for pet owners from Jamshedpur. The Top 8 local dogs will be ranked from Best in Show (1st) to 8th Best in Show, and awards for Best Local Handler and Reserve Best Handler will also be presented. This initiative aims to promote local dogs and handlers while nurturing grassroots talent in canine sports.
International Panel of Judges
Another standout feature of the championship is its elite panel of judges, comprising renowned FCI-certified judges from India, Finland, Georgia, and Thailand. Many of them are regular judges at World Dog Shows and are globally respected pioneers in breed development within their respective specializations. Their presence adds immense credibility and global stature to the event.
