UditVani, Jamshedpur: At a time when attempts to spread hatred are repeatedly surfacing across the country, a simple yet courageous act from Uttarakhand has emerged as a powerful reminder of India’s true soul.
Deepak, who chose to identify himself as “Mohammed Deepak”, has become a nationwide symbol of humanity, brotherhood and moral courage.
Jharkhand government minister Dr Irfan Ansari has openly saluted this spirit and announced a cash honorarium of Rs 2 lakh in his recognition.
Ansari said Deepak’s action revived the real meaning of freedom and the inclusive values for which generations of Indians fought.
He reiterated that the struggle in today’s India is not against fellow citizens, but against a colonial mindset rooted in division and hatred.
According to him, Deepak’s courage reflects the same spirit of resistance and unity that once powered the freedom movement.
The minister announced that he would give Rs 2 lakh from his four months’ salary to Deepak.
Calling the amount symbolic, the minister said it was meant to salute Deepak’s courage, strengthen his morale and send a clear message that India’s true identity lies in love, not hatred.
Referring to the incident, Ansari said that when some members of a right-wing group allegedly attacked a poor Muslim cloth seller, Deepak stepped forward fearlessly and saved an elderly Muslim man’s life.
In that tense moment, Deepak reportedly declared, “I am Deepak, I am Mohammed Deepak,” and single-handedly forced the attackers to retreat.
Ansari described the act as far more than an isolated incident, calling it a living example of Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb -India’s composite culture -one that will continue to inspire generations.
He said that when Deepak openly embraces such an identity, it exposes the emptiness of hatred-driven politics and delivers a strong moral rebuke to those who thrive on division.
Emotionally, Ansari said that Deepak had proved once again that love ultimately triumphs over hatred.
He termed Deepak’s actions an act of true bravery and said he saluted him from the heart.
The minister also announced that Deepak would soon be invited to Jharkhand, where he would be personally honoured.
He said the honour would not be for one individual alone, but for an idea that unites the nation rather than breaking it apart.
Concluding his message, Ansari said that hatred does not flow in the blood of a true Indian; love does.
According to him, Deepak today represents a message for the entire nation -India belongs to all, and love is its greatest identity.
