
UditVani, Jamshedpur: India’s first Critical Metals International Conference – CRITMET 2025 – will commence on November 6 at the CSIR-National Metallurgical Laboratory (NML), Jamshedpur, a Centre of Excellence in Critical Minerals and Metals recognised by the Ministry of Mines, Government of India.
The three-day event (November 6–8) aims to bring together policymakers, researchers, industry leaders, and international experts to deliberate on strategies for advancing India’s critical minerals ecosystem.
Organised under the National Critical Minerals Mission (NCMM), the conference will feature eminent speakers including Lekhan Thakkar, Joint Secretary, National Security Council Secretariat; Shakil Alam, Economic Adviser, Ministry of Mines; Dr. K. Anand Rao, CMD, Uranium Corporation of India Ltd; Dr. Anupam Agnihotri, Director, JNARDDC; and Prof. Sarma V. Pisupati, Director, C2M, Penn State University, USA.
The event is being held in collaboration with leading industries such as Vedanta Sterlite Copper, Vedanta Aluminium, Tata Steel, L&T Minerals & Metals, Rubamin, LOHUM, PolyProtic, MECL, IREL, and GMDC. Experts and exhibitors from the USA, Korea, Australia, France, South Africa, Belgium, Germany, Kazakhstan, Norway, and the UAE will participate through plenary lectures, exhibitions, and technical sessions.
Premier institutions including IITs, IISER, GSI, BARC, DRDO, CSIR Labs, BRNS, ICRIER, CEEW, CMET, and CAPS (Delhi) are also partnering in this landmark event.
The discussions will cover beneficiation, extraction, and separation of critical metals from primary and recycled sources, as well as policy frameworks and supply chain management.
