UditVani, Jamshedpur : The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Ranchi, reported that dry weather prevailed across Jharkhand during the past 24 hours, even as a significant Western Disturbance system evolved over northwest India.
According to the IMD, the Western Disturbance, seen as a cyclonic circulation over southeast Pakistan and adjoining west Rajasthan, has now moved to north Rajasthan and adjoining parts of Punjab and Haryana.
The system extends between 3.1 Km and 7.6 Km above mean sea level and is tilting northwards with height.
Meanwhile, the induced upper air cyclonic circulation that earlier lay over southwest Rajasthan has shifted to northeast Rajasthan and adjoining areas at around 1.5 km above mean sea level.
Despite these synoptic developments, weather conditions in Jharkhand remained dry.
The highest maximum temperature of 33.8°C was recorded at Chaibasa (PTO) during the past 24 hours, while the lowest minimum temperature of 9.8°C was reported at Gumla.
No rainfall was recorded anywhere in the state.
Among major observatories, Ranchi recorded a maximum temperature of 29.5°C and a minimum of 14.2°C, both slightly above normal.
Jamshedpur registered 32.5°C as the maximum and 17.4°C as the minimum, while Daltonganj recorded 30.4°C and 12.1°C respectively.
Bokaro reported a maximum of 31.5°C and a minimum of 15.1°C. Chaibasa recorded 33.4°C as the maximum and 14.8°C as the minimum temperature.
The lowest visibility in the state was reported at Jamshedpur at 1,500 metres.
Data from Automated Weather Stations also indicated dry conditions across districts, with no rainfall reported. Day temperatures in several locations remained above normal, suggesting a gradual increase in daytime heat, even as early morning and night temperatures stayed relatively cooler in parts of the state.
