UditVani, Jamshedpur : Jharkhand is set to experience another spell of intense monsoon activity over the next few days, as a depression over interior Odisha continues to influence the region’s weather.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings for heavy rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds across several parts of the state from October 4 to 7.
According to the IMD forecast:
October 4: Thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty winds of 40–50 kmph are likely at isolated places across Jharkhand.
October 5: Heavy rainfall is expected over the north-eastern parts of the state, along with thunderstorms and gusty winds (30–40 kmph) in other regions.
October 6 & 7: Thunderstorms and lightning with gusty winds are expected to continue at isolated locations.
The depression, currently centered over interior Odisha, is moving north-northwestwards at a speed of 15 kmph. It is likely to move further northwards across north Chhattisgarh and gradually weaken into a well-marked low-pressure area within the next 24 hours.
A trough extending from the depression over interior Odisha to northwest Madhya Pradesh, passing through Chhattisgarh, is also aiding strong moisture incursion into Jharkhand, making monsoon conditions vigorous over the state.
Authorities have urged residents to remain cautious, avoid open areas during lightning, and stay updated on weather advisories.
