UditVani, Jamshedpur : In a significant move aimed at enhancing passenger convenience and catering to the increasing demand from travelers and tourists, the 20871/20872 Howrah-Rourkela-Howrah Vande Bharat Express will now operate with 16 coaches starting October 19.
Previously, the train which travels via Tatanagar railway station was running with only 8 coaches.
The upgrade comes in response to consistent requests from passengers and regional tourism stakeholders, reflecting the popularity of this premium semi-high-speed train on the Howrah-Rourkela route.
With double the number of coaches, the train is expected to accommodate more travellers, reduce waitlists, and provide a more comfortable travel experience, especially during peak seasons and weekends.
Importantly, the timings and stoppages of the train will remain unchanged, ensuring continuity and convenience for regular commuters.
The train will continue to maintain its swift and punctual schedule, connecting key cities along the route efficiently.
The Howrah-Rourkela Vande Bharat Express, part of the Indian Railways’ flagship semi-high-speed train network, has been appreciated for its modern amenities, faster travel times, and superior onboard facilities, including comfortable seating, onboard catering, and advanced safety features.
The coach expansion underscores the government’s ongoing commitment to enhancing passenger experience and promoting regional connectivity.
Railway authorities have advised passengers to plan their travel accordingly and book tickets in advance to avail the additional seating capacity from October 19 onwards.
