UditVani, Jamshedpur : Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren will be in Jamshedpur today to meet the bereaved family of late State Education Minister Ramdas Soren.
As per official information, the Chief Minister is scheduled to arrive at Sonari Airport by helicopter around 1:00 PM.
From there, he will proceed directly to the Ghorabandha residence of the late minister and interact with the family members. Following the visit, he will return to Ranchi.
Notably, Hemant Soren could not attend the funeral of Ramdas Soren on August 16 as he was engaged in the shraddh rituals of his father, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) patriarch Shibu Soren, on the same day.
The funeral of Ramdas Soren was attended by several state ministers and leaders cutting across political parties, reflecting the late leader’s stature and acceptance beyond party lines.
Ramdas Soren, who served as the State’s Education Minister and was a prominent tribal leader, passed away late on the night of August 15 at a hospital in Delhi.
His death came as a shock to the political fraternity of Jharkhand, with condolences pouring in from leaders across the spectrum.
On August 16, his mortal remains were brought back to Jamshedpur, where the last rites were performed with full respect.
The JMM, in particular, has lost a strong voice with his demise.
Known for his grassroots connect, Ramdas Soren had played an important role in raising issues concerning tribal communities and education reforms in the state.
His passing away has left a deep void in the political and social landscape of Jharkhand.
The Chief Minister’s visit today is being seen as a gesture of solidarity with the grieving family, as well as a reaffirmation of his personal and political bond with Ramdas Soren.
