
UditVani, Jamshedpur : The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall and thunderstorm activity over several parts of Jharkhand in the coming days, especially affecting southern and north-eastern districts.
The monsoon remains normal over the state, but evolving weather systems are expected to intensify local weather conditions between August 7-10.

August 7:
Heavy rainfall likely at isolated locations in Southern & North-Eastern Jharkhand.
Thunderstorm and lightning, accompanied by gusty winds reaching speeds of 30–40 km/h, may occur at isolated places across the state.

Weather Systems in Play
The monsoon trough at mean sea level currently extends from Ferozpur to Arunachal Pradesh, passing through Karnail, Moradabad, Kheri, Jalpaiguri, and moving northeastward near the Himalayan foothills.
An upper air cyclonic circulation persists over central Bangladesh, situated between 5.8 and 7.6 Km above mean sea level and tilting southwestward.
A mid-level trough also runs from northwest Bihar to southeast Bangladesh, crossing northern Gangetic West Bengal, at an altitude of 3.1 to 4.5 Km.

Light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms was reported at many places across Jharkhand during the past 24-hours.
The highest recorded rainfall was 47.4 mm at Gobindpur in Dhanbad
Maximum daytime temperatures remained close to normal for this time of the year.
