Udit Vani , Jamshedpur : The East Singhbhum district administration has issued a public alert following a forecast of heavy rainfall in the region.
Prioritizing the safety of students, the district administration has announced the closure of all government and private schools for Classes I to VIII in East Singhbhum on June 18.
The decision comes amid apprehensions that students may face difficulty reaching schools due to heavy rainfall and waterlogged roads.
In schools that offer both primary and higher classes, only Classes I to VIII will remain suspended, while regular classes for higher grades will continue as scheduled.
District officials have appealed to parents to ensure children stay indoors and avoid venturing out unnecessarily. Citizens are urged to take the weather warnings seriously and adhere strictly to all administrative advisories.
However, as the notification was made this morning schools and students were unaware and hence classess were conducted as usual.
According to the Ranchi Meteorological Centre significant rainfall is expected between June 18 and 19.
The Deputy Commissioner’s office has urged all concerned departments to remain on high alert and take precautionary measures to avoid any damage or disruption.
This alert comes as part of the district’s efforts to safeguard public life and infrastructure amid unpredictable monsoon patterns.
