
UditVani, Jamshedpur : A seminar on “Entrepreneurship: The Foundation of Self-Reliant India” was organized on Monday at the Swadeshi Mela in Gopal Maidan, Bistupur.
The event brought together eminent industrialists, academicians, and social thinkers who emphasized the crucial role of innovation and entrepreneurship in driving India’s economic self-reliance.
The chief guest, S.K. Behera, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of RSB Group, along with Prabhakar Singh, Chancellor of Sona Devi University; Amit Srivastava, Director of Arka Jain University; Prof. S.N. Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Srinath University; Manoj Kumar Singh, National Council Member of Swadeshi Jagran Manch; Amitabh Senapati, Co-convener of Swadeshi Mela; and Amresh Jha, District Co-convener of Swavalambi Bharat, graced the occasion.
The seminar began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and floral tribute to Bharat Mata.
Addressing hundreds of students, youth, and teachers, S.K. Behera highlighted that a truly self-reliant India is one capable of meeting its own needs through indigenous innovation, technology, and youth power.
“An entrepreneur not only changes his own destiny but also transforms the lives of many by creating employment.
To realize the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, we must encourage innovation, promote small enterprises, and embrace the ‘Vocal for Local’ spirit,” he said.
Distinguished speakers Prabhakar Singh, Amit Srivastava, and Prof. (Dr.) S.N. Singh underlined that entrepreneurship is a dynamic engine for economic growth and a solution to unemployment. They called for empowering youth to become job creators rather than job seekers.
Delivering the keynote address, Manoj Kumar Singh of the Swadeshi Jagran Manch stated, “The journey toward a developed India is a collective effort requiring active participation from individuals, institutions, and policymakers. By nurturing a culture of innovation and resilience, we can unlock the potential of millions and build a prosperous, self-reliant nation by 2047.”
Event convener Amitabh Senapati noted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the central government has launched several initiatives — such as Startup India, Make in India, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, and Stand-Up India — to promote entrepreneurship and self-employment.
The session was chaired by Amlesh Jha, entrepreneur and District Co-coordinator of Swavalambi Bharat Abhiyan.
Pratibha Rani Mishra, NSS Program Officer of GIIT Professional College, conducted the proceedings, while Nitish Moni Tiwari delivered the vote of thanks.
Participation certificates were distributed to attending students.
Students and faculty members from various institutions including Jamshedpur Women’s University, Arka Jain University, Srinath University, NTTF, Rambha College of Institutions, IDTR, Sona Devi University, and several colleges under Kolhan University attended the event in large numbers.
