UditVani, Jamshedpur : Police have arrested Dashrath Shukla, a BJP worker from Golmuri, in a joint operation conducted between Bundu and Tamar.
Following his arrest, Shukla was taken to Bundu police station for questioning.
Though senior officials have not yet issued a formal statement, sources revealed that Shukla’s name surfaced during the probe into the firing incident at BJP leader Hareram Singh’s residence.
During the raid, police reportedly seized a firearm from Shukla’s possession, which has been sent for forensic examination. Investigators also recovered key information from his mobile phone, suggesting links to notorious criminals Prince Khan and Sujit Sinha.
These digital findings are now under detailed scrutiny as police work to piece together the broader conspiracy behind the attack.
The investigation has also brought under the scanner two others — Azad Langda and Saifi, both residents of Mango’s Azad Basti — whose involvement is being closely examined. Police sources indicated that Shukla may have maintained ties with a Dhanbad-based criminal network. Earlier attempts to arrest him during a raid at his Golmuri home had failed, but he was later apprehended based on a tip-off in Bundu.
Preliminary inquiries suggest that Shukla was engaged in money lending and recovery operations, raising suspicions that the firing may have stemmed from financial disputes or political rivalry.
Police officials stated that intensive interrogation is underway and assured that the entire conspiracy behind the incident will be exposed soon.
