UditVani, Jamshedpur : Little Flower School, Telco, was immersed in joy and reverence as it marked the Golden Jubilee of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Cluny—celebrating 50 years of dedicated service in education, spiritual guidance, and community upliftment.
The milestone event, held on Saturday, honoured the legacy of the Cluny Sisters, whose mission has transformed countless lives since their arrival in 1975.
From modest beginnings, the school has grown into a premier institution under the visionary leadership of pioneering Sisters—Sr. Cecilia Kenny, Sr. Andrea D’Cruz, and Sr. Marie Cecilia Shen.
Their commitment laid the foundation for a journey rooted in the values of knowledge, compassion, and service, inspired by the spirit of Blessed Anne Marie Javouhey.
The day’s celebrations commenced with the ceremonial welcome of the Cluny Sisters, followed by a solemn Holy Mass officiated by Rt. Rev. Telesphore Bilung SVD, Bishop of Jamshedpur Diocese. The spiritual gathering was enriched by soul-stirring hymns and a moving performance by Fr. Emile.
A vibrant cultural programme unfolded with a welcome dance, songs, and a powerful dance drama portraying the 50-years journey of the Sisters at Little Flower School. A special PowerPoint presentation revisited key milestones, reflecting on the enduring impact of the Cluny mission.
Sr. Sylvia, Provincial of the Cluny Sisters, delivered a heartfelt address, paying tribute to the selfless service and unwavering dedication of generations of Sisters. Among the distinguished guests was Sr. Marie Cecilia, who travelled from Kalimpong to witness the celebration.
The school community also honoured past and present leaders whose vision shaped the institution.
Sr. Helena Egan, who led the school for nearly three decades, is remembered for expanding infrastructure, introducing the +2 level and modern labs. Sr. Savio’s contributions to early childhood education through Cluny Preparatory School remain foundational.
Current Principal and Superior Sr. Hilda D’Souza has revitalized the institution, integrating NEP-2020 reforms, promoting digital learning, and advancing AI-based academic models.
Today, the school’s infrastructure includes a cutting-edge AI Lab, Cummins Library, Timken Hall, and a modern air-conditioned auditorium. Facilities for sports and creative pursuits further highlight the Cluny commitment to holistic development.
The Sisters extended heartfelt gratitude to Tata Motors, Tata Cummins, and Tata Power for their unwavering financial and technical support over the decades—key partners in the school’s journey of excellence.
As the celebration concluded with musical tributes, energetic performances, and a warm vote of thanks, the occasion reaffirmed the Cluny Sisters’ enduring mission:
“To serve with love, to educate with care, and to uplift with hope.”
The Golden Jubilee was not only a celebration of the past but a reaffirmation of purpose—committed to shaping future generations through faith, education, and compassion.
