
UditVani, Godda/ Jamshedpur : A shocking incident of gun violence has surfaced from Jharkhand’s Godda district, where the wife of a judicial officer was shot multiple times by unidentified criminals in the Pathargama police station area on Saturday evening.
The injured woman has been identified as Vandana Kumari, wife of Santosh Kumar Sah, a Judicial Magistrate currently posted in Sasaram, Bihar.
According to preliminary information, the incident occurred near Gandhigram, when Vandana Kumari, a resident of Parsa, was passing through the area.
The assailants allegedly opened indiscriminate fire, hitting her with three bullets.
The sound of gunfire created panic in the surrounding locality. After executing the attack, the criminals managed to flee the scene.
With the help of local residents and family members, the seriously injured woman was first rushed to the Pathargama Hospital, where doctors provided initial treatment.
Given the severity of her injuries and the bullets lodged in her body, she was immediately referred to Godda Sadar Hospital for advanced medical care.
Her condition is reported to be critical.
On receiving information, the local police reached the spot and launched an investigation. Considering that the victim is closely related to a serving judicial officer, the administration is treating the case with utmost sensitivity.
Police are probing all possible angles, including personal enmity and attempted robbery, to ascertain the motive behind the attack.
CCTV footage from nearby areas is being examined.
However, no arrests had been made and the attackers remain unidentified.
