UditVani, Jamshedpur : Union Textile Minister Giriraj Singh on Monday launched a fierce political broadside during a visit to Adityapur Industrial Area, accusing West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of pushing Bengal towards a “Bangladesh-like model” and alleging that Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren harbours ambitions to replicate West Bengal in his own state.
The Union minister was here to inaugurate the new academic block at the Netaji Subhas Medical College.
“While Mamata Banerjee seems intent on making Bengal resemble Bangladesh, Hemant Soren appears determined to turn Jharkhand into another Bengal,” Singh declared while speaking to the media.
Backs Champai’s Switch to BJP
In a significant political endorsement, Singh lauded Champai Soren’s defection from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha to the Bharatiya Janata Party, calling it “a wise and timely decision” that would help protect Jharkhand’s cultural and political identity.
Targets Bihar’s RJD Clan
Singh didn’t hold back on Bihar either, asserting that the electorate will decisively reject the return of the Lalu Prasad Yadav-led Rashtriya Janata Dal. “Bihar will vote for stable governance under the BJP,” he said.
Focus on Textile Growth
Shifting gears to development, Singh announced major plans to elevate Jharkhand’s textile sector. He highlighted the initiation of indoor tassar silk cultivation in Nagdi (Ranchi) and revealed that a proposal is in the pipeline for establishing a large-scale textile hub in the state.
Healthcare Expansion Under Modi Govt
Singh also cited national achievements in healthcare, mentioning the launch of new MBBS colleges and an expansion in medical seats under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. “India is witnessing a medical renaissance under PM Modi,” he said.
The remarks come ahead of a politically crucial phase in both Jharkhand and Bihar, with the BJP positioning itself strongly for upcoming electoral battles.
