
UditVani, Jamshedpur : As a run up for the Ghatsila assembly by-election, East Singhbhum District Election Officer -cum -DC Karn Satyarthi and Senior Superintendent of Police Piyush Pandey conducted a thorough inspection of the Jamshedpur Co-operative College, designated as the dispatch and receiving hub for Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).
The college will serve as the starting point for 45 polling parties and the central location for receiving EVMs post-voting.
During the visit, officials guided staff on smooth election operations, directed the completion of the strongroom, and reviewed barricading arrangements to ensure security.
Emphasizing preparedness, the officials instructed on proper distribution of election materials, EVM and VVPAT maintenance, parking for polling and official vehicles, and provision of basic amenities such as drinking water, toilets, and electricity.
Arrangements for medical teams, help desks, and seating for reserve staff and observers were also ensured.
The inspection was attended by City SP Kumar Shivashish, DTO Dhananjay, Deputy Election Officer Priyanka Singh, District Public Relations Officer Panchanan Urao, engineers, DSPs, and local police officials.
The DEO and senior police stressed coordination among all teams for a smooth and efficient election process.
