
UditVani, Jamshedpur : With the Ghatshila Assembly By-Election 2025 vote counting day approaching, the District Administration, East Singhbhum, held a comprehensive review meeting to finalize all preparations.
The counting of votes will take place tomorrow, Friday.
The meeting, chaired by District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi and Senior Superintendent of Police Piyush Pandey, was convened at the Collectorate auditorium in Sakchi.
During the review, the District Election Officer directed officials to ensure meticulous adherence to all guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
He underlined that the counting process must be conducted with absolute transparency, fairness, and efficiency, leaving no room for error.
Satyarthi instructed that trained personnel be deployed at every counting table and that counting supervisors and assistant officers remain present throughout the process.
He also reviewed the arrangements for videography, control room monitoring, EVM movement from the strong room, round-wise result transmission, and other critical logistical aspects.
Special attention was given to the counting of postal ballots and ETPBS votes, with directions to follow the ECI protocols strictly.
The District Election Officer emphasized that each counting hall must have adequate lighting, communication facilities, and an uninterrupted power supply to ensure a smooth and efficient process.
Senior Superintendent of Police Piyush Pandey reviewed the security blueprint for the Co-operative College counting centre, directing officers to ensure tight security across the premises.
He stated clearly that unauthorized entry into the counting venue would not be permitted under any circumstances, and only those with valid passes would be allowed inside.
The meeting was also attended by City SP Kumar Shivashish, ADM (Law & Order) Bhagirath Prasad, Returning Officer (Ghatshila) Sunil Chandra, Assistant Returning Officers, and other key administrative and police officials.
The review meeting reinforced the district administration’s commitment to ensuring that the Ghatshila by-election counting day is conducted in a peaceful, transparent, and well-coordinated manner, in full compliance with the directives of the Election Commission of India.
