UditVani, Jamshedpur : A football player was robbed at gunpoint during his morning walk on Kadma Link Road on Friday, sparking panic among local residents. Two masked criminals on a motorcycle targeted the victim and fled with his gold chain, prompting a swift police response.
According to reports, the victim, Ramdev Singh, was following his daily routine when the incident occurred around 6 a.m. As he reached a stretch of the Link Road, two bike-borne youths wearing masks suddenly approached him. Eyewitness S.L. Das said the duo threatened Singh by brandishing a pistol and then quickly snatched the chain from his neck before speeding away.
Soon after the incident, Kadma police reached the spot and launched a manhunt, setting up checkpoints and cordoning off nearby areas. CCTV footage from the locality is being scanned to track down the culprits.
Police officials have assured that the accused will be identified and arrested soon.
The early morning crime has left the neighborhood on edge, with residents voicing concerns over increasing incidents of street crime. Authorities have promised intensified patrolling to prevent such incidents in the future.
