UditVani, Jamshedpur : In a landmark action, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday carried out extensive searches against Ranchi-based Chartered Accountant Naresh Kejriwal under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) — the first operation of its kind in Jharkhand.
The raids, which began around 6 a.m., covered 15 locations linked to Kejriwal and his family across Ranchi, Mumbai, and Surat.
In the state capital, ED teams searched his Church Complex office and residential premises.
The action stems from inputs shared by the Income Tax Department following earlier searches on Kejriwal. Based on the findings, the ED launched a FEMA probe, during which preliminary evidence reportedly indicated that Kejriwal had routed investments abroad.
According to officials, initial investigations suggest overseas investments made in Dubai, the United States, and several other countries, raising suspected violations of FEMA provisions.
Following these inputs, ED officers conducted coordinated searches at properties connected to Kejriwal and his associates to gather further evidence of potential foreign exchange violations.
