UditVani, Jamshedpur : In response to the rising number of stray bulls and other animals in urban areas — posing risks to road safety and public order — the East Singhbhum district administration has launched a dedicated capture and survey operation across the city.
Under directives issued by the Deputy Commissioner, a 10-member Special Task Force has been formed, led by the District Animal Husbandry Officer.
The team will conduct a systematic survey, identify stray bulls, cattle and dogs, and safely capture them using tranquilisation techniques to ensure zero harm to both citizens and animals.
Officials confirmed that all captured bulls will be shifted to designated gaushalas, where they will receive proper care and necessary follow-up procedures.
The task force has been instructed to adopt scientific and humane practices throughout the operation — from tranquilising and securing the animals to their safe transportation.
Strict compliance with established animal welfare standards will be mandatory.
According to district administrative officials , the initiative marks a major step toward preventing road accidents, improving urban hygiene, and strengthening the city’s animal management system.
