
UditVani, Jamshedpur : A district-level committee meeting concerning Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) was held under the chairmanship of East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Karan Satyarthi at the collectorate office today.
The meeting reviewed the status and operations of EMRS in Baharagora, Potka, Dumaria, and Dhalbhumgarh blocks, with clear directives issued to commence academic sessions within a month.
Key agenda items included student admissions, recruitment of teaching and non-teaching staff, infrastructure development, provision of essential facilities, and school security. The Deputy Commissioner instructed officials to begin recruitment of teaching staff as per guidelines and fill vacancies by the end of July through advertisement. For non-teaching posts, personnel are to be engaged via outsourcing agencies.
It was also directed that 100% admission be ensured in all EMRS institutions. On infrastructure, installation of blackboards, transformers, and borewells as per DPR (Detailed Project Report) must be expedited through coordination with executing agencies. Additionally, the District Welfare Officer was assigned responsibilities for arranging electricity, furniture (bench-desk), mess facilities, stationery, school uniforms, and more.
For safety measures, the DC emphasized the urgent preparation and submission of cost estimates for boundary construction around residential school premises. Currently, admissions in EMRS are being taken only for Classes 6 to 8.
The meeting was attended by District Welfare Officer Shankaracharya Samad, District Information and Public Relations Officer Shri Panchanan Oraon, District Social Welfare Officer Smt. Sandhya Rani, District Education Officer Manoj Kumar, Dr. A. Mitra from the Health Department, and other committee members.
